Yalıkavak is a neighborhood in the Bodrum district of Muğla province.
With the merging of Gökçebel and Geriş villages on December 26, 1988, it became a municipality under the name of "Yalıkavak" and became a town.
Yalikavak is 18 km from Bodrum. It is located in the northwest of the peninsula. On a journey from Bodrum to Yalikavak, first a row of windmills and then the unique view of Yalikavak welcomes you. Yalıkavak, which was originally a Spongeci neighborhood and the birthplace of the most famous sponge divers of the peninsula, has turned into a very important tourism resort today. It stands out with its windmills on the hills and on the coast, beautiful coves, sunsets and tourism facilities opened in recent years.
Yalıkavak Bay is located in the north-west corner of the Bodrum peninsula. The northern part of the bay is a peninsula in the shape of the letter L, facing north. There is no elevation, except for a few rocky, steep hills. The eastern and southern parts of the bay are the foothills of relatively high hills.
